Rockin’ Out: 2012 Coachella Style

The inner hipster in me dies for music festivals. Furthermore, I love the styles spotted at this year’s Coachella. Listening to live ‘indie’ bands. Soaking up the sun. Sometimes I’m wondering what the heck I’m doing in Singapore during Coachella. Celebrities such as Emma Watson, Diane Kruger, Kate Bosworth, Katy Perry and many more are seen out and about. Models are strutting their stuff in the “model off duty going to Coachella” look. Major eye-candy action, if you ask me! Here are some of the best looks so far at Coachella 2012 and let’s take inspiration from these street style shots for the next music festival:

Dr. Martens Spring Summer 2012 Windsor Collection + Agyness Deyn for Dr. Martens Collaboration

YES. You’ve probably heard the news. The face of ‘First and Forever’ Agyness Deyn is collaborating with Dr. Martens for a limited edition Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. The British model spoke to WWD, “The brand is a great fit for me, as it stands for strong character and being able to shape your own personal identity”. I can’t wait to see her new collection come Fall. Let’s focus our attention on the new Windsor collection for the boys. I don’t normally blog about men’s clothing, shoes or whatever. But, I’m really diggin’ these English Alfred brogue shoe, Lester 3-eye shoe, and Barrett tassel loafer all sporting an off-white outsole for Spring Summer 2012. What’s special about this shoes are the new leather welt and Chera Wax – a fine canvas with a natural waxy finish which is practical and also durable especially in this rainy weather! Gosh, the rain doesn’t stop, does it?

Available from March 2012 at Dr. Martens flagship stores at Wheelock Place and Orchard Central.

Hey Aggy!

Dr. Martens S/S 2012 Windsor Collection. All boys and men should have these.

The Alfred Brogue Shoe is available in Navy, Tan/Porcelain & Porcelain.

I would seriously wear this. Lester 3-Eye Shoe is available in Navy & Porcelain.

A little old school, but I likey. The Barrett Tassle Loafer is available in Navy/Off White & Tan/Off White.

Dr. Martens Spring Summer 2012: Chalky Collection

This season, there is definitely no shortage of fresh, vivid colors. In fact, the color trend has begun and here to stay. Dr. Martens classic Pascal 8-Eye boot (SGD189) and 3-Eye shoes (SGD169) for Spring/Summer 2012 are reintroduced in four, bright colors with a matte “Chalky” finish. Made of soft and pliable Cartegana leather, this collection is so comfortable and light to wear that you don’t want to take them off. Available in Blueberry (my favorite pick!), Off White, Raspberry and Sun Yellow (my 2nd favorite!). I tried on a pair of the Dr. Martens Pascal 8-Eye boot in Blueberry in my size 38 (already sold out at the Wheelock Place store! Dang, I hate having common size feet.) and it feels like I’m walking on clouds. Love! I would love to get the Pascal 3-Eye shoes in all colors and they are oh-so-versatile! See below the full collection and ‘LIKE’ your favorite pair on my Facebook Page.

Available at Dr. Martens Orchard Central and Wheelock Place in January 2012.

My choice: Dr. Martens Pascal 8-Eye Boot in Blueberry.

Dr. Martens A/W 2011: Zita Heels Collection

Dr. Martens is going great heights with their Autumn/Winter 2011 collection with Zita heels collection. Get ready for four designs, two colors (black and oxblood) – slender stacked heels, fine gold eyelets and lace details. Super sexy! For Elevate fans, you’ll be thrilled that it comes in brown, just in time for Autumn. Oh my gosh, I need the new Elevate – like now! I’m such a fan of wedges – not too sure if I can deal with heels. Guess where I’m heading tomorrow – Dr. Martens store at Wheelock Place! Available in stores from 1st October. Get it, or regret it.

The Zita.

The Zita collection – Zita Gilda 20-Eye Boot, Zita Kimora 10-Eye Boot, Zita Ofira 4-Eye Boot & Zita Nevena Shoe Boot.

Zita Kimora 10-Eye Boot in Oxblood. Love the color!

Zita Nevena Shoe Boot in Black. Totally smart! See the rest of the collection on my Facebook Page.

Fash-E’s Pick: Best Leather Satchels

It’s all about the old-school leather satchels these days. I swear it all started with The Cambridge Satchel Company. I first spotted TCSC at Dover Street Market in London last May and I thought, “Ooh, such a chic bag!” Unfortunately, it was my last day in London and I’m literally broke at that point in time. I would be crazy to shop for more bags after my Chanel 2.55 purchase in Paris – haha. Now, leather satchels are sprouting around like mushrooms – from high-street labels to designer labels. Here’s my pick for the best leather satchels that you can possibly get – or maybe I’m just listing down what I would get for myself:

There is something intriguing about a white leather Dr. Martens leather satchel White Smooth. There are only 350 pieces across all colours worldwide – yes, LIMITED EDITION! So grab one now at the new Dr. Martens store at Wheelock Place (#02-17A).

If you’ve missed the pre-orders for The Cambridge Satchel Company, fret not. The collection will be available from Doorstep Luxury from May onwards. I love the fact that they are affordable, multi-colour and handmade leather. Check out the florescent versions as well!

I fell in love with the bright Kate Spade satchels from their Spring / Summer 2011 collection. The ad campaign featured a candy-happy Bryce Dallas Howard makes me wanna grab one of these babies like right nooooowwww!

If you’re feeling a little rich, this Miu Miu small leather satchel from Net-A-Porter is so classy yet old-school.

Hmm. Raf Simons for Dr. Martens

These days, I see Dr. Martens in every corner. The classic trend travels fast in this small island. I’m not a rebel, I wish I have a pair but the weather is wayyy too hot for boots. Maybe it applies better for the recent rainy days. To me, I like some sort of ventilation for my feet – and these Raf Simons for Dr. Martens came along.

Hmm.

Should Dr. Martens just stick to what they do best – boots? And not gladiators-like boots thing? I don’t know how this fusion monster is doing to look like with your toes sticking out. I love Raf Simons but he’s just not cut out in revolutionizing Dr. Martens into something that it is not.

Seriously, what are your thoughts? I’ve to try them when these hit Singapore.
